They give the standard 15, 30, 15 for an 8 hour shift. ![]() You will hear people complain about breaks and time off. And there is always advancement opportunities. People can have pretty good careers here. A lot of locations have so much OT that if you want extra money it is all yours. If you do it right you can take a huge advantage in their 401k (TSP). Were talking in the range of $30 and hours (depending on location). Especially after a couple of years your pay jumps a lot. But it's really hard to ignore the pay and benefits. ![]() There are times you just want to say f*** it and walk out. Helping the elderly or those with varying needs traverse the screening process successfully. Dealing with all sorts of different situations like people traveling with pets or children. Rotating between one of 9 possible positions in the passenger screening process. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Ī typical day of screening passengers consists of doing a lot of talking with the traveling public. If you can make light of tough situations, put on a good face even when you’d rather be anywhere else, and help lighten the mood and the load whenever/wherever possible then you’ll have a great time with the TSA. Multitasking is a must and people who can’t or don’t/won’t will have issues with their coworkers and management. The work environment is pretty fast paced.
